My heart is happiest at the intersection of creativity, faith, and curiosity.

I grew up in the Brandywine Valley of Pennsylvania and my journey has taken me through the non-profit world, to seminary, pastorates large and small, book and commentary article writing, Hospice chaplaincy, and now both individual and group spiritual direction.

Throughout my creative journey I have explored dozens of artistic media: kiln formed glass, watercolors, acrylic, mixed media, alcohol inks, polymer clay, mosaic tile, needle felting, oil painting, pastels, ceramics, precious metal clay, stained glass, and even graffiti.

I love them all.

Over the years I created a process of contemplative inquiry and creative expression that allows participants to listen deeply within and give voice to the dynamics and hidden truths longing to be discovered…… and Contemplative Creativity was born.

My faith is grounded in the reformed Christian tradition, and I am also conversant and comfortable in all faith traditions. I received my M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary and have served pastorates, taught, and led retreats in Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia.

My training for both individual and group spiritual direction is with the Shalem Institute in Washington, DC. I'm also certified through Together in the Mystery to provide supervision of spiritual directors.

I am the Co- Author of What is Your Practice: Lifelong Growth in the Spirit along with Dr. Norvene Vest.

Currently, I provide spiritual direction, lead Contemplative Creativity Retreats, and serve on the leadership teams for the Certificate in Spiritual Direction at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia and for the Group Spiritual Direction Program of the Shalem Institute in Washington, DC.
